Of childhood dreams…

Tuesday, 12. July 2011

I was 9 years young when Swedens Rockband “Europe” took off on their worldwide career with “The Final Countdown”. The guys from the band where crucial to me, because:

1. When I watched the “Final Countdown”-video on TV for the very first time I simply knew I was going to sing on stage and become a pop- or rockstar myself :-) .

2. I became the biggest (:-)) fan of Joey Tempest (the singer) & Co. and the vivid mind of my 9-year old self created many fairy tales which helped me survive a very challenging phase of my 3D-life.

When I learned that “Europe” was going to play their ONLY 1986 concert in Vienna/Austria on a working day I begged my parents to take me there. Well, they didn’t, because they said Vienna was too far away and going to school was more important anyway. – 9-year old Eva was very angry back then.

Three weeks ago and just a few days before the start of “Donauinselfest” (Austria’s biggest open-air festival), I learned that “Europe” were going to be one of the headliners…

Summing up…

Monday, 15. March 2010

Dear all,

you might have wondered, why there haven’t been updates on this site for such a long time. – As I am currently living in Vienna/Europe and my artist life turned out to be very successful here in my home country, all news updates since June 2008 have been published on the German site only.

Anyhow, I think it is time for a short summary in English. So, here I go:

In October 2008 – among 690 contestants – I scored 3rd in Austrias’ biggest band contest the “Ö3 Soundcheck” (German site)

In spring 2009 my first single release “Fortune Teller” reached the top 10 of Austrias’ single charts (top position: 7) and remained in the charts for 17 weeks. Many Austrian radio stations have been incredibly supportive and “Fortune Teller” reached the top 3 of the “Ö3 airplay charts”.

The album “Fortune Teller” has been released in Austria in March 2009. An international release date has not been fixed so far. – I’ll keep you posted on that one. If you wish to listen to some of the songs in advance you can do so in the media section.

In September 2009 I was nominated for the “Amadeus Award” – Austria’s “Grammy award” ;-) – in two categories: “best song” and “best pop artist”.

My second single “A Sound Of Silence” has been released on September, 29, reached the top 7 of the Austrian single charts within 3 weeks and stayed in the charts for 21 weeks. ”A Sound Of Silence” also reached top 4 of the “Austrian airplay charts”.

Since the beginning of 2009 I have been playing a huge number of concerts and it’s incredibly wonderful to realize that even when it’s raining cats and dogs you people still come to the shows to hear me sing. Looking forward to playing even more shows this year! See you there.

Love & Light

Eva
